About Us:

Established in 1993, ArthroCare was originally founded to develop new tools to perform cardiovascular intervention, but quickly expanded the tool set for a variety of soft tissue applications. ArthroCare's founders discovered that electrosurgical systems and that tissue could be removed using small, multiple electrodes at a fraction of the energy required by traditional electrosurgical systems. More importantly, it was discovered that this method of tissue removal did not cause the same degree of thermal damage to surrounding tissue.

In 1997 this unique process was patented and named Coblation®. Today Coblation is used in a rapidly expanding range of applications including: arthroscopy, orthopedic, spinal and neuro, and general surgery and interventional cardiology.
